Child + Family Dedication

Child + Family Dedication is how we at New City partner together with parents to dedicate their children to God, promise to raise them to follow Jesus, and include the church in the life of the family and the family in the life of the church.

We celebrate Child + Family Dedications twice a year at Sunday Services. If you’d like to dedicate your child(ren) we’d love to partner with you!

Child+Family Dedication FAQs

  • No. Baptism is for those who have made the conscious decision to follow Jesus. At Child+Family Dedication the parents are simply dedicating their child(ren) to God, committing publicly to raise them to follow Jesus. At the same time, the church is committing to partner with the parents to bring the child up in the faith.

  • Typically, we dedicate young children (0-3 years). But we also know of our parents are new to the faith and have never dedicated their children when they would have while they were younger. We'd love to dedicate your child no matter their age. If you have questions feel free to reach out or leave a comment on your sign up form.

  • Twice a year during our Sunday services. Look on the sign up form to your options on dates.
