NEW CITY RESIDENCY

A two-year intensive discipleship program designed to equip the next generation of ministry leaders with real world ministry experience, quality biblical and theological education, and spiritual formation.

Real World Ministry Experience.

Residents are immediately considered to be and treated like staff at New City Church. They participate in the real day-to-day work of ministry and are exposed to every part of local church leadership. The goal is to provide a space where residents can explore and develop their gifting as leaders in the local church by doing real ministry work alongside experienced leaders who can coach them along the way. Residents can pick a ministry focus and hone their skills, get expert coaching, network with others in their desired field, and grow as an emerging leader.

Biblical + Theological Education.

Alongside ministry experience, Residents receive a quality biblical and theological education that will serve them for a lifetime as well as equip them to teach others. Over their two years, residents will study seminary-level content including the entire Bible, church history, and systematic theology in a small cohort-like setting we call “Lab”.

Spiritual Formation.

We don’t want to stop at head knowledge. What we really care about is your heart. Our goal is to walk alongside residents in their formation as followers of Jesus by training them in spiritual practices that will help them become the person God created them to be. Part of their curriculum will include Spiritual Practices and Practices in Leadership and Ministry.
